Position Description

 

Title: Interim Coordinator for UKirk Presbyterian Campus Ministry

 

Purposes:

The Interim Campus Ministry Coordinator for UKirk: Presbyterian Campus

Ministry will develop and maintain networks for outreach and connection among

students and young adults. The primary location for this ministry will be with students at

the University of Louisville, and the ministry shall also be open to participation from

students at the other colleges and universities in Louisville. Guided by the UKirk model

of the Presbyterian Church (USA), the Interim Campus Ministry Coordinator will develop

programming for that network of students, caring for their spiritual, emotional, and faith

development, and strengthening their relationship with MKP.

the mission, vision, and core values of UKirk Collegiate Ministries, the UKirk Strategic

Plan, and MKP. This includes modeling, advocating, and promoting standards of

inclusivity and Christ’s call to demonstrate justice in the world.

 

Candidate Qualifications:

Preference will be given to candidates with experience

working in young adult and/or college ministry, as well as a working knowledge of

Reformed Theology [and the Presbyterian Church (USA).

 

Accountability:

The Interim Campus Ministry Coordinator for UKirk: Presbyterian

Campus Ministry serves under the supervision of the MKP UKirk Board. Performance

reviews will be conducted after the first six months and annually thereafter by members

of the Board plus one member of the MKP personnel committee.

 

Responsibilities:

1. Develop and grow vibrant networks and weekly programming throughout the academic

year for community and spiritual development. This includes providing pastoral care to

students as needed.

2. Interface with other campus ministries and provide representation within the U of L

student and Interfaith Center (IC) organizational structure.

3. Supervise the work of the student leadership team.

4. Organize and lead programming for young adults in MKP, including organizing

groups for the Montreat College Conference, developing college break

programming, and providing outreach to non-UofL Presbyterian students of MKP.

5. Cultivate relationships with ministers and advocates throughout MKP for service and

leadership within UKirk Presbyterian Campus Ministry.

6. Cultivate relationships between congregations and UKirk members.

7. Participate in and provide written reports to the UKirk Board.

8. Participate in MKP gatherings and staff meetings.

 

Hours per week: 15

Salary: Range $11,400 – 12,000

Term: One academic year (Sept. 1, 2026, through May 31, 2027)
